After David passes his driver’s test, he goes to his father’s office at the synagogue.
“Dad, the time has come for me to have a car.”
“David, is that any way to honor your father?”
“Oh sorry. Dad, can I please have a car?”
“David, I’m the town Rabbi. They way to honor me is to study Torah, visit the sick, and get a haircut.”
A month later David returns.
“Dad, now can I please have a car?”
“David, I’m very proud of you for studying Torah every day, and for accompanying me on hospital visits. But our deal included a haircut.”
“True, but in Torah study, I learned that Noah had long hair, Samson had long hair, Abraham had long hair, and Moses had really long hair…”
“By Heaven, you’re right! And they also walked everywhere they went…”
